We all have dogs that we love and they become cherished family members, but once in a while we are blessed with dogs that are even more special. Basil is one of those dogs, and I call him my 'soul dog'. He can do anything that I ask of him. His only limitations come from me as a handler. I have been blessed with an amazing dog that knows me inside and out, who knows what I am thinking, who can make me laugh, and who shares a deep spiritual bond with me when we work together. One day I hope he will be a GMOTCH, SCH lll, TDX, CH Belgian. I know he can do it. I am just fearful that I might not meet the bill!

Basil is a beautiful boy with the extraordinary mind and drive of a great working dog. He is titled in many venues. His titles include Canadian Champion, Companion Dog Excellent (both in the CKC and AKC rings), Schutzhund obedience title of BH (Begleithund), Schutzhund endurance title of AD, Schutzhund 1, Rally-O Novice and Advanced, Tracking Dog. In Rally-O Novice he earned scores of 97, 98 and 97 (out of 100). in Rally-O Advanced he earned had a class win and scores of 98 and 100 (out of 100). Basil had scores of 198.5, 198, 198 (out of 200) when competing for his CD. He also has six High in Trials with very limited competition.

Basil is a sweet, driven boy who can be pushy and needs an experienced hand. He LOVES to work, and excels at it. He is a doll to live with, loves to cuddle and is basically a love bug. He is confident and outgoing, and very devoted to his owner. He will do anything asked of him, and then some, always ready for new challenges. Basil has produced one litter to date who are almost two years old, and those pups have the focus and drive one would expect, with one titled in tracking and training for competetive obedience. Temperaments in Basil's puppies are extremely stable and outgoing, easily motivated with strong working drive.
